Kingdom Plantae. Divisions: Bryophyta (nonvascular) Hepatics (liverworts) (Mosses) Tracheophyta (vascular) Pteridophyta (spore bearing) Spermatophyta (seed bearing) Gymnospermae (naked seeds) Angiospermae (enclosed seeds) Classes: Monocoteldonae (one seed-leaf) Dicoteldonae (Two seed-leaves) Families. Plants have chloroplast and chlorophyll pigment, which is required for photosynthesis.
In Kingdom Plantae, life cycle of many plants is completed in two stages or generations known as Gametophyte and Sporophyte.
The plant body may be thalloid (undifferentiated mass of tissues) or well-differentiated into stem, root, and leaves.
The Kingdom Plantae consists of multicellular organisms that have cell walls made of cellulose. Plantae kingdom includes all sorts of plants belonging to multicellular eukaryotes. Kingdom Plantae is broadly composed of four evolutionarily related groups: bryophytes (mosses), (seedless vascular plants), gymnosperms (cone bearing seed plants), and angiosperms (flowering seed plants).
